Nordman Fir (Abies nordmanniana)
Renowned for its excellent needle retention, the Nordman Fir is becoming
more popular each year because of the glossy rich dark green colour of
its needles, together with its needle retaining characteristics. It's
a slow growing tree with a very attractive shape, thick foliage and beautiful
coloring of deep green. Otherwise known as the Caucasian Fir. It is a
native of the Caucasus and northern Anatolia in Turkey. In its native
environment this tree can reach 70m in height. It is becoming increasingly
popular as a Christmas tree. It grows more slowly than Norway Spruce.
