Christmas Tree Species - Nordman Fir

Nordman Fir (Abies nordmanniana)
Renowned for its excellent needle retention, the Nordman Fir is becoming more popular each year because of the glossy rich dark green colour of its needles, together with its needle retaining characteristics. It's a slow growing tree with a very attractive shape, thick foliage and beautiful coloring of deep green. Otherwise known as the Caucasian Fir. It is a native of the Caucasus and northern Anatolia in Turkey. In its native environment this tree can reach 70m in height. It is becoming increasingly popular as a Christmas tree. It grows more slowly than Norway Spruce.
